Question 1 (a) - Page 255 Use unmarked number lines to evaluate these expressions: a. –125 + (–30) = _______(–125) + (–30) Since (–125) is negative, we mark (–125) to the left of zero And since (–30) is negative, we mark (–30) to the left we reach (–155) Thus, (–125) + (–30) = –125 – 30 Taking – common = – (125 + 30) = – 155
