Inverse of an Integer This is basically additive inverse The Additive Inverse Property The additive inverse of any number is the number that, when added to it, results in zero. It's like finding the "opposite" number on the number line. Let's look at some examples: Let’s do some examples Find the inverse of: –3, 5, 890, –99, 105, 0 Now, Inverse of –3 = –(–3) = +3 Inverse of 5 = –(5) = –5 Inverse of 890 = –(890) = –890 Inverse of –99 = –(–99) = +99 Inverse of 105 = –(105) = –105 Inverse of 0 = –(0) = 0 Note: Inverse of zero is zero
