Definition

Drainage 

River system of a particular region.

Drainage Basin 

The area drained by a single river system is called a Drainage Basin. 

Water Divide 

Any elevated area, such as a mountain or upland that separates two drainage basins is known as a Water Divide. 

Perennial river

Rivers that flow throughout the year 

Tributary

A river or stream that flows into a larger river or sea.

Delta

A triangle-shaped piece of land formed when a river divides into smaller rivers before flowing into an ocean.

Estuary

The point at which the tide meets the stream at the mouth of a large river.

Peninsular

Landmass that are border by water bodies from the three sides
