  • Thus, light travels a distance of about 9,50,000 crore km in one year.
  • Light years are used to measure vast distances in space, such as the distance between stars, galaxies, and other celestial bodies. 
  • The nearest star to our Solar System, Proxima Centauri, is about 4.24 light years away.
