(a) The near point of his eyes has receded away

(b) The near point of his eyes has come closer to him

(c) The far point of his eyes has come closer to him

(d) The far point of his eyes has receded away

  • The near point of the eye is the minimum distance upto which the eye can see clearly. 
  • The far point of the eye is the maximum distance upto which the eye can see clearly. 
  • The student can see the board clearly (far point is okay), but is facing problems while reading his book (near point is to be corrected). 
  • This means his near point has slid farther away.
