A student sitting on the last bench can read the letters written on the blackboard but is not able to read the letters written in his text book. Which of the following statements is correct?

(a) The near point of his eyes has receded away

(b) The near point of his eyes has come closer to him

(c) The far point of his eyes has come closer to him

(d) The far point of his eyes has receded away

Answer

  • The near point of the eye is the minimum distance upto which the eye can see clearly.
  • The far point of the eye is the maximum distance upto which the eye can see clearly.
  • The student can see the board clearly (far point is okay), but is facing problems while reading his book (near point is to be corrected).
  • This means his near point has slid farther away.
