Are A and B independent?Here, S = {"1, 2, 3" ," 4, 5, 6" } Let two events be A : the Number is even B : the number is red Event A A = {"2, 4, 6" } P(A) = 3/6=1/2 Event A A = {"2, 4, 6" } P(A) = 3/6=1/2 Also, A ∩ B = {2} So, P(A ∩ B) = 1/6 Now, P(A) . P(B) = 1/2 ×1/2 = 1/4 ≠ P(A ∩ B) Since P(A ∩ B) ≠ P(A) . P(B) Therefore, A and B are not Independent
