Example 6 A survey of 40 children showed that 25% liked playing football. How many children liked playing football? Total number of children = 40 Percentage of children who like football = 25% Number of children who like football = 25% × 40 = 25/100 × 40 = 1/4 × 40 = 10 ∴ 10 children like playing football
