Types of Nouns

Nouns are of 2 types

  1. Proper Nouns
    They have a name
  2. Common Nouns
    They do not have a name

Example

  1. John lives in London
    Here John and London are proper nouns

  2. John lives in city
    Here John is a proper noun 
    city is a common noun as it does not have a name

  3. Boy lives in a city
    Here boy and city both are common noun(as they do not have a name)

PROPER NOUN

COMMON NOUN

They are specific (have a name)

They are not specific (does not have a name)

Sachin Tendulkar

India

Priyanka Chopra

Example

cricketer

country

a girl

They are always in Capital letters

Note:-

They are normally not in Capital letters
