Write a paragraph on what democracy means to you as a young citizen.
Show Answer
- To me, democracy means that the country belongs to its people, and I am one of them.
- It is not only about voting, which I cannot yet do.
- It is about the way people live together, following rules, respecting others' rights, and settling disagreements by discussion instead of force.
- India gave every citizen the right to vote from the very first day of the Constitution, and it protects my Fundamental Rights in court.
- But those rights only work if citizens use them responsibly.
- As a student, my share of democracy is smaller but real.
- I can stay well-informed, check information before believing or forwarding it, take part in my school and community, and treat people equally whatever their background.
- If I learn these habits now, I will already be practising the responsibilities I will carry as a voter later.
What your own paragraph should include
- What democracy is.
- That it goes beyond voting.
- One right you value.
- One thing you will actually do.
