Events If the Sample Space is the entire menu, an Event is the specific order you place. An event is just one specific outcome (or a combination of a few outcomes) that you are actually looking for. In math terms, an event is a "subset" (a smaller piece) of the sample space. EXAMPLES OF EVENTS TOSSING TWO COINS Sample Space: S = {HH, HT, TH, TT}} Event: 'At least one coin shows Head.' 2. ROLLING A 6-SIDED DIE Sample Space: Event: 'The number rolled is greater than 4.' . 3. PICKING FRUIT FROM A BASKET Sample Space: S = {Apple, Banana, Orange}} Event: 'Picking a fruit that is yellow.' Banana .
