Question 7 It takes 6 hours to fill 2 tanks of the same size with a pump. How long will it take to fill 5 such tanks with the same pump?Given that, 2 tanks are filled in 6 hours We need to find how much time will it take to fill 5 tanks Let Time taken by 5 tanks be y hours Now, we draw a table Now, as Number of tanks increases, Time taken to fill all tanks also increases So, they are in Direct proportion So, we write numbers as 𝒙_𝟏/𝒚_𝟏 = 𝒙_𝟐/𝒚_𝟐 𝟐/𝟔=𝟓/𝒚 𝑦 × 2/6=5 𝑦=5 ×6/2 𝒚 = 15 So, 5 tanks will fill in 15 hours
