Example 3 (Page 65) 20 workers take 4 days to complete laying a road. How many days will 10 workers take to complete laying the same length of road?Given that, 20 workers complete a job in 4 days We need to find much time would it take if there are 10 workers Let the Time taken be y days Now, we draw a table Now, As Number of workers increases, Time taken to complete the job will decrease So, they are in Inverse Proportion So, we write numbers as 𝒙_𝟏 𝒚_𝟏 = 𝒙_𝟐 𝒚_𝟐 20 × 4 = 10 × 𝑦 (20 × 4)/10=𝑦 8 = 𝑦 𝒚 = 8 So, it will take 8 days
