Question 3 Shyamala bought 3 kg bananas at ₹30/- per kg. She counted 35 bananas in all. She sells each banana for ₹5/-. How much profit does she make selling all the bananas? Now, Profit = Selling Price – Cost Price Let’s find both separately Cost Price She bought 3 kg bananas at ₹30/- per kg Thus, Cost price = Number of kgs of banana × Price per kg = 3 × 30 = ₹ 90 Selling Price Given that She counted 35 bananas in all. She sells each banana for ₹5 Thus, Selling price = Number of bananas × Price per banana = 35 × 5 = ₹ 175 Now, Profit = Selling Price – Cost Price = 175 – 90 = ₹ 85 Thus, she made ₹ 85 in profit
