Decimal DivisionWhile dividing decimals We remove decimal point, and convert into fractions We try to make denominator as 10, 100, 1000, … and solve And in the end, we convert fraction into decimals Let’s take some examples 2.8 ÷ 2 = 2..8 ÷ 2/1 = 2.8 × 1/2 = 𝟐𝟖/𝟏𝟎 × 𝟏/𝟐 = (28 × 1)/(10 × 2) = 14/10 = 1.4 3.6 ÷ 9 = 3.6 ÷ 9/1 = 3.6 × 1/9 = 𝟑𝟔/𝟏𝟎 × 𝟏/𝟗 = (36 × 1)/(10 × 9) = 4/10 = 04/10 = 0.4 9.8 ÷ 100 = 9.8 ÷ 100/1 = 9.8 × 1/100 = 𝟗𝟖/𝟏𝟎 × 𝟏/𝟏𝟎𝟎 = (98 × 1)/(10 × 100) = 98/1000 = 98/1000 = 0098/1000 = 0.098 12.96 ÷ 4 = 12.96 ÷ 4/1 = 12.96 × 1/4 = 𝟏𝟐𝟗𝟔/𝟏𝟎𝟎 × 𝟏/𝟒 = 1296/4 × 1/100 = 324 × 1/100 = 324/100 = 3.24 0.05 ÷ 100 = 0.05 ÷ 100/1 = 0.05 × 1/100 = 005/100 × 1/100 = 005/100 × 1/100 = 𝟓/𝟏𝟎𝟎 × 𝟏/𝟏𝟎𝟎 = (5 × 1)/(100 × 100) = 5/10000 = 00005/10000 = 0.0005
