Question 7 Dwarakanath purchases notebooks at a wholesale price of ₹23.6 per piece and sells each notebook at ₹30/-. How much profit does he make if he sells 50 books in a week?First, let us find Profit on 1 book Now, Profit on 1 book = Selling Price of 1 book – Cost price of 1 book = 30 – 23.6 = 30 – 236/10 = (30 × 10 − 236)/10 = (𝟑𝟎𝟎 − 𝟐𝟑𝟔)/𝟏𝟎 = 64/10 = ₹ 6.4 We need to find How much profit does he make if he sells 50 books in a week Thus, Profit on 50 books = 50 × Profit on 1 book = 50 × 6.4 = 50 × 64/10 = 5 × 64 = ₹ 320 Thus, he makes a profit of ₹320.
