Addition of decimals To add decimals, First we convert them into fractions and then we cannot the final fraction into decimal Let’s take an example Add 0.08 + 9.831 + 0.8956 0.08 + 9.831 + 0.8956 = 008/100 + 9831/1000 + 08956/10000 = 8/100 + 9831/1000 + 8956/10000 = 8/100 × 100/100 + 9831/1000 × 10/10 + 8956/10000 = 800/10000 + 98310/10000 + 8956/10000 = (800 + 98310 + 8956)/10000 = (98310 + 8956 + 800)/10000 = 108066/10000 = 10.8066 Add 49.59 + 53. 481 + 1000.003 49.59 + 53.481 + 1000.003 = 4959/100 + 53481/1000 + 1000003/1000 = (4959 )/100 × 10/10 + 53481/1000 + 1000003/1000 = (4959 )/100 + 53481/1000 + 1000003/1000 = (49540 + 53481 + 1000003)/1000 = (1000003 + 49590 + 53481)/1000 = 1103074/1000 = 1103.074
