Question 2 – Page 51 The length of Shylaja’s hand 12 4/10 is units, and her palm is 6 7/10 units, as shown in the picture. What is the length of the longest (middle) finger? Length Shylaja’s middle finger = Length of hand – Length of palm = 𝟏𝟐 𝟒/𝟏𝟎− 𝟔 𝟕/𝟏𝟎 Writing in normal fractions = 𝟏𝟐𝟒/𝟏𝟎− 𝟔𝟕/𝟏𝟎 Since denominator is same, we subtract numerators = (124−67)/10 = 𝟓𝟕/𝟏𝟎 Converting into mixed fraction = 𝟓 𝟕/𝟏𝟎 units
