The Himalayan rivers perform intensive erosional activities and form depositional features:

  1. In the upper course, rivers flow with great speed from higher to lower levels. Because of this, the soil gets eroded.
  2. They transport a lot of sediment in the middle and lower courses.
  3. The absence of slope in the lower course causes deposition and the river-formed various features such as meanders, and oxbow lakes,
