  • It is a brown c olored fiber.
  • Jute is cultivated in the rainy season.
  • In India, it is  grown in Assam, Bihar and West Bengal,
  • Jute is harvested at the flowering stage,
  • The stem of the harvested plant is immersed in water for few days,
  • Stem decays and fiber is separated with the hands,
