An acid dissociates into ions when dissolved in water. A weak acid does not dissociate completely into its constituent ions.

 

The weak acids are: 

  1. Formic acid (HCOOH)
  2. Acetic acid (CH 3 COOH)
  3. Benzoic acid (C 6 H 5 COOH)
  4. Oxalic acid (C 2 H 2 O 4 )
  5. Hydrofluoric acid (HF)
  6. Nitrous acid (HNO 2 )
  7. Sulfurous acid (H 2 SO 3 )
  8. Phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 )
