What is Gram Molecular Mass? How is it calculated?

Answer

Gram molecular mass is the mass of one mole of a molecular compound reported in grams .

It is the same as Molar mass. But unlike Molar mass it is not reported in atomic mass unit.

The atomic mass (in grams) of each atom in the molecule should be multiplied for each atom and then added to obtain the gram atomic mass.

Example: Gram atomic mass of H 2 O is

                (1g x 2) + (16g x 1) = 18g
