Why does the Sun appear reddish early in the morning?

Answer

Early in the morning, during sunrise, the sun is near the horizon.

Hence, the sunlight has to travel a large amount of distance through the atmosphere to reach us.Why

Due to travelling such a long distance, most of the blue colour (since it has short wavelength) in the sunlight get scattered.

Hence, the light reaching our eyes during the sunrise mainly consists of red colour (since it has a longer wavelength).

Hence, the Sun and the sky surrounding it appears reddish early in the morning.
