Ex 9.4, 16 A homogeneous differential equation of the from ๐๐ฅ/๐๐ฆ=โ(๐ฅ/๐ฆ) can be solved by substitution. (A) ๐ฆ=๐ฃ๐ฅ (B) ๐ฃ=๐ฆ๐ฅ (C) ๐ฅ=๐ฃ๐ฆ (D) ๐ฅ=๐ฃ Given ๐๐ฅ/๐๐ฆ = h(๐ฅ/๐ฆ) Here, h(๐ฅ/๐ฆ) is a function of ๐ฅ/๐ฆ So, we will make the substitution x = vy So, the correct answer is (c) Note: An example of function h(๐ฅ/๐ฆ) can be h(๐ฅ/๐ฆ) = (๐^(๐ฅ/๐ฆ)โ1)/(๐ฅ/๐ฆ) So, we solve it by substituting x = vy
