What are oxidizing agents?

 

Answer:

Oxidizing agents are the one which remove hydrogen atoms or add oxygen atoms  from the other compound. These substances gain electrons and themselves undergo reduction .

E.g. Halogens, potassium nitrate , alkaline potassium permanganate or acidified potassium dichromate etc.
