What will happen if.

(a) we go on cutting trees.

(b) the habitat of an animal is disturbed.

(c) the top layer of soil is exposed.

Answer

(a) If we go on cutting trees.

If we go on cutting of trees, it will disturb the balance in the nature.

There will be an increase in the temperature of the earth which will result in global warming.

Global warming will disturb the natural water cycle which will further lead to natural calamities such as drought and floods. Cutting of trees will destroy the natural habitat for various animals,as a result of which the biodiversity of the areas will be affected. Cutting of trees leads to desertification, soil erosion and natural calamities

(b) The habitat of animal is disturbed.

Plants play a major role in the lives of animals

Animals are dependent on plants for their food, shelter and protection

If the habitat of animals is destroyed they would be forced to go to different places in search of food and habitat.

In this process the animals would get killed by other animals or humans.

Also, animals and birds do not get enough food in the absence of trees and plants as a result of which they starve to death.

(c) The top layer of soil is exposed.

Trees prevent soil erosion.

Less trees will lead to more soil erosion

Removal of the top layer of the soil will expose the lower layer which is hard and a rocky layer

This exposed layer is less fertile and contains less humus

thus, soil erosion leads to infertile and a barren land
