Another method which we can use is a tracing paper.

We take a tracing paper and measure AB with it.

Then we overlap the tracing paper on CD and see which one is bigger .

So, AB is smaller than CD

 

What are the drawbacks?

  1. The length measured depends on our tracing accuracy
  2. If we want to compare 3 line segments, we have to trace twice and compare.

We have to trace both AB & CD to see which one is bigger

 

     3.We cannot trace lengths all the time , it is very time consuming
