Suppose we have two line segments

By seeing, we can see that (CD)Β  is bigger than (AB)Β 

Let’s take another example

Some will say (AB) , some will say (CD)Β 

So, it is not obvious whether (AB ) is bigger or (CD)Β 

This is because we see differently and our judgment of length is not accurate.

So, we have to use another method.
