Example 7 Neenu has 29 metres of red ribbon and wants to share it equally with Anu. What is the length of ribbon that each of them will get?Given Total length = 29 m And, we need to share it amongst 2 people Thus, Length of ribbon each will get = (๐‘‡๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐‘™๐‘’๐‘›๐‘”๐‘กโ„Ž)/(๐‘๐‘ข๐‘š๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘๐‘’๐‘œ๐‘๐‘™๐‘’) = ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—/๐Ÿ m Now, to divide this, we make denominator 10, 100, 1000โ€ฆ So, we to solve this, we multiply and divide by 5 (as 2 ร— 5 = 10) 29/2=๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—/๐Ÿ ร—๐Ÿ“/๐Ÿ“ =(29 ร— 5)/(2 ร— 5) =(29 ร— 5)/10 = 29 ร— 5 ร— ๐Ÿ/๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ = 145 ร— 1/10 = 14.5 m Thus, each person will get 14.5 m of ribbon
