Question 8 What is the algebraic expression describing the following steps — add any two numbers. Multiply this by half of the sum of the two numbers? Prove that this result will be half of the square of the sum of the two numbers.Let the two numbers be 𝑎 & 𝑏 Now, we are asked to Add any two numbers: 𝒂+𝒃 And, Multiply this by half of the sum of the two numbers So, (𝒂+𝒃)× ((𝒂 + 𝒃)/𝟐)=((𝑎 + 𝑏) × (𝑎 + 𝑏))/2 =𝟏/𝟐 ×(𝒂 + 𝒃)^𝟐 This is half of the square of the sum of the two numbers. Hence proved
