Question 9 The middle number in the sequence of 5 consecutive even numbers is 5p. Express the other four numbers in sequence in terms of p.Consecutive even numbers are 2 apart. If middle is 5p: One before: 5p – 2 First one: 5p – 4 One after: 5p + 2 Last one: 5p + 4 Thus, our 5 consecutive even numbers are 5p – 4, 5p – 2, 5p, 5p + 2, 5p + 4
