Constructing Equilateral TriangleAn equilateral triangle has all sides equal Let’s try to draw an equilateral triangle of side 4 cm Our figure would look like Let’s figure out how to construct this Steps of construction 1. Draw a line segment AB of length 4 cm 2. Taking 4 cm as radius, and A as center, we draw a full circle lightly 3. Taking 4 cm as radius, and B as center, we draw a full circle lightly Now, where these two circles intersect is our point C Note: Instead of drawing full circles – we can draw a part of the circle. Since we know point C will be above AB – we draw part of a circle (arc) from point A and from Point B See solid line blue and solid line Green 5. Join AC and BC and label the sides Thus, Δ ABC is the required triangle
