Question 9 This string has a total of 100 tokens arranged in a particular pattern. What is the value of the string? We can group them into sets of 5 Like In each set of 5, we have 3 positive, and 2 negative tokens ∴ Value of set of 5 = (+3) + (–2) = 3 – 2 = 1 Since we have 100 tokens, Thus, we have Number of sets of 5 = (𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑡𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛𝑠)/(5 𝑡𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛𝑠) = 100/5 = 20 Thus, we have 20 sets of 5 And each set of 5 has value +1 Thus, Value of 100 tokens = Number of sets × Value of each set = 20 × 1 = +20 Since we have 100 tokens, Thus, we have Number of sets of 5 = (𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑡𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛𝑠)/(5 𝑡𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛𝑠) = 100/5 = 20 Thus, we have 20 sets of 5 And each set of 5 has value +1 Thus, Value of 100 tokens = Number of sets × Value of each set = 20 × 1 = +20
