Chapter 3 Class 7 A Peek Beyond The Point - Assertion and Reasoning Worksheet 1 by teachoo Chapter: Chapter 3 Class 7 Maths – A Peek Beyond Point Name: _____________________________ School: _____________________________ Roll Number: _____________________________ Instructions: For each question, two statements are given: Assertion (A) and Reason (R). Choose the correct option. (a) Both A and R are true, and R is the correct explanation of A. (b) Both A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation of A. (c) A is true, but R is false. (d) A is false, but R is true. Assertion (A): In a Formula 1 race, a lap time of 81.05 seconds is faster than a lap time of 81.5 seconds. Reason (R): Smaller numbers represent faster times in racing. Assertion (A): An import duty of 75 paise on an item is entered as ₹ 0.75 in the accounting system. Reason (R): A paisa is 1/10 th of a rupee. Assertion (A): A measurement of 2.600 ml is a larger quantity than 2.6 ml . Reason (R): While trailing zeros can imply different levels of precision, the mathematical value of 2.6,2.60, and 2.600 is identical. Assertion (A): A 52 mm photograph is equivalent in size to a 5.2 cm photograph. Reason (R): Millimeters and centimeters are both units in the metric system. Assertion (A): To correctly add a bill of ₹12.5 and a tax of ₹3.45, one should visualize 12.5 as 12.50 . Reason (R): Adding a zero to 12.5 changes its value to make the addition possible. A paisa is 1/100th of a rupee.) d) ( A is false, the quantities are identical. R is true.) b) (Both are true, but R is a general statement and not the specific mathematical reason for the conversion.) c) (A is true, but R is false. Adding the zero does not change the value.)
