Step 1: Find the differences For 3.56: 4 - 3.56 = 0.44 For 3.65: 4 - 3.65 = 0.35 For 3.099: 4 - 3.099 = 0.901 Step 2: Compare the differences 0.44 0.35 0.901 The smallest of these values is 0.35 Step 3: Identify the closest decimal The decimal that gave the smallest difference was 3.65.
