Write each quantity in decimal form and in terms of place value, and read the number : (b) 1 ten and 5 tenths Number = 1 × 10 + 5 × 1/10 = 10 + 5/10 = 10.5 Writing in place value Number = 10. 5 We can read the number as Ten point five OR Ten tens and five tenths
