Example 9 Raghu bought 100 kg of rice from the wholesale market and packed them into 2 kg packets. He already had four 2 kg packets. Write an expression for the number of 2 kg packets of rice he has now and identify the terms.Total rice bought = 100 kg Rice in 1 packet = 2kg Number of packets he already had = 4 Total number of packets needed for 100 kg rice = (𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑑)/(𝑅𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑛 1 𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑒𝑡) = 100/2 = 100 ÷ 2 Number of packets he has now = Total packets for 100 kgs + Packets he already had = 100 ÷ 2 + 4
