Swapping terms doesn't change sum (Commutative property of addition) Let’s look at 12 + 7 Now, 12 + 7 = 19 What if we swapped terms? And, 7 + 12 = 19 Thus, swapping terms doesn’t change the sum This is true for any expression Like Value 6 × 5 – 8 = 30 – 8 = 22 Value –8 + 6 × 5 = –8 + 30 = 30 – 8 = 22 This is actually called Commutative Property of Addition, where
