Grouping terms differently doesn't change sum (Associative property of addition)Let’s look at –7 + 10 – 11 Writing in terms, and calculating ( (-7) + 10 ) + (–11) = (10 – 7) + (–11) = 3 + (–11) = 3 – 11 = –8. What if we group differently? Like (-7) + (10 + (–11)) = (-7) + (10 – 11) = –7 – 1 = –8. So, the sum is the same This is actually called Associative Property of Addition, where
