Turmeric is another natural indicator .

It is known as Haldi in Hindi.

  • It turns red, when the given solution is basic in nature.
  • Its colour remains unchanged (yellow) in presence of acids .
  • If acid is put on the red turmeric paper, it will bring back the red paper to its original yellow colour.

How to make turmeric paper:

  1. Take a tablespoon of turmeric powder, add water to make a paste .
  2. Make turmeric paper by depositing turmeric paste on filter paper and drying it.
  3. Cut it into strips.
