1.Materials which allow electricity to pass through them are known as Conductors.

1.Materials which do not allow electricity to pass through them are known as Insulators.

2. For Example - Copper, Aluminium, Silver, Human body.

2.For Example - Rubber, Glass, Plastic, Wool etc.

3.It is used to make switches, sockets, electric plugs.

3. Uses:

  • Insulators are used for safety. 
  • Insulators protect us from getting electric shocks .
  • Insulators allow us to handle current-carrying wires , switches, plugs, sockets, and other electrical appliances safely.
