Under what condition(s) is the magnitude of average velocity of an object equal to its average speed?

Answer

We know that

Average speed = Total distance/Total time

Average velocity = Displacement/Total time

Therefore, the magnitude of average speed and average velocity are equal when the total distance covered is equal to the displacement.
