Difference of Sexual Reproduction & Asexual Reproduction

 

Sexual Reproduction

Asexual Reproduction

Reproduction of new organisms from 2 parents by making use of their sex cells is called sexual reproduction

Reproduction of new organisms from a single parent , without the involvement of sex cells is called asexual reproduction

Reproduction is done by fusion of male and female gametes (sex cells)

No sex cells (gametes) are involved in reproduction

It requires 2 parents - male and female

It requires only one parent

In Sexual Reproduction, the offspring produced is not an exact copy of the parents.

In Asexual Reproduction, the offspring produced is an exact copy of the parents.

Examples : Human Beings, Dogs, Cats, Hen do sexual reproduction

Examples : Amoeba, Hydra do asexual reproduction
