Carbon Dioxide is heavier than oxygen

When it is sprayed,it covers object like a blanket and cuts oxygen supply

Carbon dioxide does not harm electrical equipment

If water is sprayed on electrical equipment,it damages it and can cause short circuit

However, there is no such effect if carbon dioxide is sprayed

Carbon dioxide can be stored easily

It is stored in liquid form in cylinders(fire extinguishers)

When it is sprayed ,it expands in volume cutting oxygen supply

It reduces ignition temperature

When carbondioxide is sprayed,It also cools down reducing temperature of substance below igntion temperature
