Carbon Dioxide is heavier than oxygen

When it is sprayed,it covers object like a blanket and cuts oxygen supply

If water is sprayed on electrical equipment,it damages it and can cause short circuit

However, there is no such effect if carbon dioxide is sprayed

It is stored in liquid form in cylinders(fire extinguishers)

When it is sprayed ,it expands in volume cutting oxygen supply

It reduces ignition temperature
