Make crystals of different compounds (common salt, epsom salt, sugar, borax, nickel sulfate, etc.). Observe them under a magnifying glass or a microscope. Note down their colours and shapes.

Make a saturated solution of each compound in warm water and let it cool slowly, undisturbed, for a few days. Crystals grow with their own shapes — cubic for common salt, needle-like for epsom salt, and large clear ones for sugar candy. Record the colour and shape of each under a magnifying glass.
