nth Term of an AP For an Arithmetic Progression (AP) Thus, nth term = an = a + (n − 1) d Let’s do an example Find the 10th term of the sequence √2,√8,√18,… Given AP √2,√8,√18,… √𝟐,𝟐√𝟐,𝟑√𝟐,… Here, a = √𝟐, d = 2√2−√2=√𝟐 Since we need to find 10th term, ∴ n = 10 Putting values in formula an = a + (n − 1)d a10 = √𝟐 + (10 − 1) √𝟐 a10 = √2 + 9 × √2 a10 = 𝟏𝟎√𝟐
