MeanMean is the sum of all the values divided by the number of values And, it formula is Mean = (πΊππ ππ πππ ππππππ ππ πππ π πππ)/(π΅πππππ ππ π½πππππ ππ πππ π«πππ) Letβs do some questions Mean of Two numbers Find the mean of 3 & 6 Here, Mean = (3 + 6)/2 = 9/2 = 4.5 Plotting in a dot plot Observation: When we only have two numbers, the mean is always exactly halfway betweet them. It is the exact midpoint. Mean of Three numbers Calculate and mark the mean of each collection of data below. Plot 1 (Blue dots): The dots are at 6,7 , and 8 . " Mean "=(6+7+8)/3=21/3=π Plot 2 (Teal dots): The dots are at 3, 6, and 9 . " Mean "=(3+6+9)/3=18/3=π Plot 3 (Yellow dots, bottom left): The dots are at 2,4 , and 9 . " Mean "=(2+4+9)/3=15/3=π Plot 4 (Yellow dots, bottom right): The dots are at 4,11, and 15 . " Mean "=(4+11+15)/3=30/3=ππ Finding the Mean of 4 Numbers Mark the mean for the collections below. Plot 1 (Red dots, top left): Dots are at 11,13,16, and 18. " Mean "=(11+13+16+18)/4=58/4=ππ.π Plot 2 (Orange dots, top right): Dots are at 4,5,15, and 16 . " Mean "=(4+5+15+16)/4=40/4=ππ Plot 3 (Green dots, bottom left): Dots are at 10,10,11, and 17 . (Notice two dots are stacked on 10!) " Mean "=(10+10+11+17)/4=48/4=ππ Plot 4 (Green dots, bottom right): Dots are at 3,5,10, and 12 . " Mean "=(3+5+10+12)/4=30/4=π.π
