Question 3 I have 100 coins in the ratio — no. of ₹10 coins : no. of ₹5 coins : no. of ₹2 coins : no. of ₹1 coins :: 4 : 3 : 2 : 1. How much money do I have in coins? Given ratio 4 : 3 : 2 : 1 First, we add up Total Parts Total parts = 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 10 Thus, we have 10 total parts Since we have 100 coins total, we find out how much is 1 part worth Value of 1 part = (𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑠)/(𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑠) = 𝟏𝟎𝟎/𝟏𝟎 = 10 coins So, we multiply each part by 10 coins Thus, number of coins are Number of ₹ 10 coins = 4 × 10 = 40 Number of ₹ 5 coins = 3 × 10 = 30 Number of ₹ 2 coins = 2 × 10 = 20 Number of ₹ 1 coins = 1 × 10 = 10 We need to find much money we have in coins Total money = Number of ₹ 10 coins × 10 + Number of ₹ 5 coins × 5 + Number of ₹ 2 coins × 2 + Number of ₹ 1 coins × 1 = 40 × 10 + 30 × 5 + 20 × 2 + 10 × 1 = 400 + 150 + 40 + 10 = ₹ 600 Thus, we have total money ₹ 600
