[Hint: Use a ruler to find the distance between the cities on the map. Then, use the ratio given on the map to find the actual geographical distance.]Let’s look at the steps Take your ruler and measure the straight line distance between the red dots for Bengaluru and Chennai in centimetres. Let's pretend the distance on the map is 4.5 cm . Because we know 𝟏" " 𝐜𝐦=𝟔𝟎" " 𝐤𝐦, you simply multiply your measurement by 60 . (e.g., 𝟒.𝟓×𝟔𝟎=𝟐𝟕𝟎" " 𝐤𝐦 ).
