Trefoil ArchTrefoil Arch looks like How do we construct this? We Make equal angles at A & D And, AB = CD Then we make arc on AB & CD Then, we make semicircle on BC Let’s do the construction Steps of Construction 1. Construct a line AD of any length, let AD = 8 cm 2. Draw an angle from point A It can be any angle. And mark point B on it, assume AB = 3 cm 3. Keeping compass open the same, make angle at point D, such that ∠ A = ∠ D Mark point C on it, such that CD = AB = 3 cm 4. Now, we know that AB = 3 cm. We make a semi-circle of Diameter = 3 cm i.e. radius. = 1.5 and center is mid-point of AB 5. Similarly, we make semi-circle on CD 6. Join BC 7. We make a semi-circle of Diameter = BC Where center is mid-point of BC Thus, our trefoil arch is formed We can adjust the radii of arcs to make the arch more aesthetically pleasing
