Hindu Number SystemThis is the number system we use today all over the world. It is the final and most advanced stage in the "Story of Numbers." Key Features: Base-10 (Decimal): It counts in groups of 10. Ten Digits: It uses exactly ten symbols: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Place Value: The value of a digit depends on where it sits. Example from the text: 375 In this system, we don't need to draw 300 sticks or use a special symbol for 300 (like 'CCC' in Roman numerals). You just put the '3' in the Hundreds place. 3 is in the 102 (Hundreds) place → 3 × 100 = 300 7 is in the 10 (Tens) place → 7 × 10 = 70 5 is in the 1 (Units) place → 5 × 1 = 5 Total: 300 + 70 + 5 = 375.
